Body SafetyBody Safety TrainingTeaching Children about being Safe The Body Safety Training program was developed to educate children four years old and younger about personal safety, especially child sexual abuse. The program is suited for small groups of children (10-15), three and four years old. It is offered in a series of ten lessons which can be presented as one 15 minutes lesson a day for about two weeks, or tailored to meet the needs of your setting. Time is given for role-playing what is learned and the previous lesson is reinforced in subsequent lessons. Stories about children in potentially dangerous situations are used to practice how children could respond. Parents are provided with an informational piece about the program when it is instituted and are given regular updates about material covered in the trainings so they can reinforce them at home. For more information about this program, to volunteer to be a presenter, or to schedule a training in your pre-school or childcare setting, please contact Program Director, Marcia Dykstra click here. |
