Michigan Children's Trust Fund Direct Service Grants
Each year, the Michigan Children's Trust Fund (CTF) makes grant dollars available to direct service providers throughout the state. Grants are for as much as $35,000. The grants are meant to support programs that have a direct and significant impact on preventing child abuse and neglect.
Applicants are required to notify their local CTF designated child abuse and neglect council prior to submission, and the proposal must be reviewed by and submitted through the council. (Here in Washtenaw County, the WACC is the designated council; those wishing to submit applications from other counties must follow the process laid out by the council in their own county. Applicants from outside of Washtenaw County may contact us to determine who the appropriate council is for your application.)
This website will include detailed instructions about submitting direct service grants as soon as the Michigan Children's Trust Fund releases this year's direct service application forms and schedules. Applicants should note that WACC will likely require submission of your grant application to us about a month before the deadline for submission to CTF. The process of working with WACC will be designed to help you with your proposal and to make sure your proposal is highly rated by WACC before it is forwarded to CTF.
The deadlines for 2005 were as follows: the proposal was
due to WACC in early March, and was returned with comments
to the applicant by mid-March. A revised copy was then submitted
back to WACC in late March. Revised proposals were scored
by a review team at WACC and submitted, with scores, to CTF
in early April. A similar process is anticipated for 2006.
Please call our office and speak to Patrick if you have questions
or if you intend to submit a proposal. Check this website
often to see if the 2006 schedule and guidelines are available.
