Interested in interning with us?
Washtenaw Area Council for Children offers unpaid, but highly flexible, internships in the majority of our programs. We would love to have you on our team!
Step 1:
make sure you're eligible
In order for you to get school credit for interning with us, Washtenaw Area Council for Children needs to have an articulation agreement with your school. We primarily have graduate interns.
If you are a graduate student from the U of M, talk to your department's internship director to see if we have an agreement with your program.
If you are interested in interning with us but you are from a different school/an undergraduate, we will need to establish an articulation agreement through your internship director before you can receive school credit for working with us.
If you are interested in working with us without receiving school credit, visit our volunteer page.
Step #2:
learn about our programs
Our internships are individually designed around the strengths and interests of our interns; however, because we have internships in all of our programs, you should research our programs so you can tell us what program(s) you would be most interested in interning with.
If you're interested in a general internship with us and have questions, contact our Executive Director, Tim at Tim@washtenawchildren.org.
If you're interested in interning with our Safe Baby program and have questions, contact Rowena at Rowena@washtenawchildren.org.
If you're interested in interning with our Body Safety Training program and have questions, contact Christine at Christine@washtenawchildren.org.
If you're interested in interning with our Cyber Safety Program and have questions, contact Robin at robin@washtenawchildren.org or Justus at Justus@washtenawchildren.org.
Step #3:
Apply
To apply, please email your resume and cover letter to both Tim (Tim@washtenawchildren.org) and the contact for whichever program you're interested in interning with, listed above. We will respond to you shortly to discuss available internships, and, if any are available, schedule an interview.
*Please note that, if selected, we will need to perform a routine background check since you will be working with children.
