Promoting child safety and well being and to prevent child maltreatment, abuse, and neglect through educational services and programs to children, parents, community members, and youth-serving professionals throughout Washtenaw County.

Spotlight - Internet Safety

With 94% of our youth regularly using the Internet - most often for its vast benefits - we know that the Internet also has negative aspects that pose risks, especially to young people.

As technology quickly changes and expands, many parents are either unaware of the dangers or have trouble keeping up with them.

Some of the issues we address to help parents in the digital age include social networking, gaming, texting and other forms of messaging, cyberbullying, reducing vulnerability to predators and child exploitation, and how to discuss and create a climate for positive online ethics.
