About the Presenters:
Dr. Kathleen Kruse is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and the Medical Director of the Nyman Unit at the University of Michigan Medical School. In addition, she serves as the Faculty Senate representative on the six-member Police Department Oversight Committee. Dr. Kruse received her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School and specializes in Psychiatry, which includes the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, schizophrenia, and trauma-related disorders. She is board-certified in adult psychiatry, child psychiatry, and forensic psychiatry. Her clinical interests include trauma-related disorders and mental health care for systems-involved youth, including the child welfare and juvenile legal systems.
